Leica Minilux in the cold

Hi!
I have been thinking of taking my Leica Minilux (which I have used too little until now) on my next mountain trip...and was wondering how it does in the cold (sub -5°C). Any experiences? Would wear it beneath a jacket, but how do the batteries do when exposed a little?

The Minilux (non-zoom) is the only camera that I ever had that kept running and running on a low battery, albeit much slowed down. With others it's always shooting happily one moment, and full stop the next. That the Minilux keeps running on low batteries suggests that it won't suddenly conk out when the battery can't supply a certain threshold performance due to cold.

Sounds promising - does the Minilux Zoom run on a CR123A battery as well?

Manual says that LCD panel has been designed for use from approx 0°C to 40°C.

Used it now several days while ski guiding in the Georgian Caucasus, worked even in minus 10deg and below with no issues (and keeping it outside). I prefer the Contax T3 in general, but the Minilux does much better in the cold. The verdict on the results is still due, will not be able to develop until a while.
