i'm looking to purchase one of these cameras. i'm curious if anyone has any experience with either or both. my only concern is which will take better pictures...the original minilux with the Summarit 40mm f/2.4 lens or the minilux zoom with the Vario-Elmar 35-70mm f/3.5-6.5 lens. thanks

Definately the prime lense one. It's quite a nice lense and faster of course. I was in fact advised against the zoom when I bought mine. Mine is in fact a strange snakeskin covered one with dateback I got in an insurance replacement for my original.
