Leica Q3 43 - Got one?

I have become so enamored with the q that it has its own gallery now. check it out at www.leica-q.com and post some images. I may endup getting a q3 43. but the 28 is such a nice lens as well. what do you think?
Good to know of this new website for the Q camera images. Very recently started with a basic structure similar to this one. Hmmmm, I wonder why....

I was just fooling around a tried a pic of this Turner's Cube from Ukraine with the close focus option. Shot at F/16 for max depth of field. I suppose I could have shot it, too, with the crop tele function but at sacrifice of detail. Like detail means a lot in this pic, but anyway. ISO 10,000 but still not too noisy. The cube is 1.5 inches in height.

Does it come apart? The round and square don't get on well maxim seems to apply here.

I just learned on the internet that Leica has a new firmware update for the Q3 43, 4.0.0. It promises an easier menu, better autofocus, and better tones. This is already a pretty good camera, a bonne a tout faire. It is not perfect. However, it does really well in a lot of categories so it is good to have along. It does close up shooting built in and can crop automatically to ape telephoto with still good images. It is a really good camera.

Well I ended up buying a Q3 43 although not uploaded the new firmware as yet.
I must say that its very good.
So much so that I`m tempted by the mono version with the 28 lens.

It is a bonne a toute faire camera. It is like a Swiss Army knife. I have other cameras that can best it in single categories but for the "all in one" camera this little puppy is really good. I have not been super happy with the color in it so I am hoping that the new firmware will improve that. But for an easy carry "git 'er done" this camera works well. It is amiable.

They seem to be having problems with the latest firmware release. I haven`t followed it closely because I never up date my cameras. They already do more than I would possibly need out of the box.
Cracking little camera though .

What is the RFF experience of the Q3 43 today? Looks like we have a few members with this camera now.
Fabulous camera .
The lens is rated as one of the best that Leica produce ( in terms of performance ).
Its a though you get the body for free .
It has the Sony triple resolution sensor that the rest of the Leica bodies have which means you can crop comfortably to 90mm if you so wish so saving on additional lenses .
All in all its a very sensible solution
The only criticism of it is that its all to easy .

It is, for me, a jack of all trades. It can do reasonable macro closeups and can do crop telephoto in camera. The lens really is good. But the camera has no soul, the sensor color just has no richness. However the new firmware 4.0.0 has been said to address that. I have just done a few test shots and it looks better. But I really have to get out and shoot with it. The skin tones are said to have been improved.

If you wanted just one camera as a carry camera this would be at the top of the list. It does movies, too. You won't get an Oscar but you will get a record of some things moving.

Does it have the same sensor as the SL3?

This is what Satan (AI) says:

"Yes, the Leica Q3 43 has the same 60MP full-frame BSI-CMOS sensor as the Leica SL3. Both cameras use the same sensor technology, which is part of a triple-resolution sensor family that also includes the Q3 and M11 models. This sensor lacks an anti-aliasing filter, which enhances sharpness and detail but increases the potential for moiré in certain scenes. The sensor provides a wide ISO range of 50–100,000 and delivers excellent color fidelity and dynamic range, particularly in 14-bit Raw DNG format. Image quality is strong across the ISO range, with minimal noise up to ISO 1600, though luminance noise becomes noticeable from ISO 3200–6400 and more prominent at ISO 12500–25000."

My fondness for the M8, M9 and M240 may be my bias. And I have not done side by side tests. One reason is the Q3 lens is not removeable. And while I am really impressed by the remarkable sharpness the color is not rich IMNSHO. Again, I have not done much shooting with the updated firmware. It also may be a difference between RAW and JPG and the new firmware has addressed that. Hopefully. "Tape at 11:00"

I acquired a Q3 28 about a year ago, prior to the Q3 43's introduction. I tried a 43 but decided the 28 was good enough for me. I set up my 28 after watching a Nick Ranes video. When the v. 4 update came out, I loaded it it via the Fotos app. I noticed when when the camera was preparing for the changes, it didn't ask if I wanted to retain my profiles like the previous updates I'd loaded. The update didn't save them so I had to set up the camera, again. No big deal. I've just started playing with it and, so far, I really like the new upgrade and, to date, have noticed real issues. After the update, I noticed the Fotos app wouldn't link to the camera so I deleted the camera on my phone's WiFi setting and deleted the app. Once reinstalled, everything works fine.
