Leica, VIDOM question

I was just curious if the VIDOM is pretty good to use. I wanted to mount one on my Digilux 2, but don't know how accurate it is...are the images upside down?
 
not upside down, but reversed back to front. actually, if the image appears upside down, turn the eyepiece. it turns to allow you to view vertical images. (dunno what optical wizardy is going on in there...)
the thing with the VIDOM is that it always seems to have clearer glass than the post-war VIOOH (also know as the IMARECT), and it's smaller as well.
it's actually not a bad finder, if you are used to (or can get used to) a l-r reversed image. if you've got a tlr it's already second nature....

ummmm for "back to front" read "left to right"

but for your digi2, does it have markings on the lens for 35mm equivalent lens size? the VIDOM is click stopped for leitz lens sizes from 3.5cm to 13.5cm (and depending on model it has either 7.5cm and 9cm or 8.5cm stops) so you'd have to guess for the digi 2 zoom ranges?

I have a VIDOM and I use it in upside-down configuration. It can help with composition. A well-known photog used to use it quite a bit too - see attachment. :)
 
The VIDOM is a sleeker-looking finder than the IMARECT and sits smaller on top of the camera. Other than dealing with the reversed image, it's a great little accessory. I used one for a long time until I could afford an IMARECT which wasn't cheap in the 1970's.
