Thank you for the kind words Dave. I am David and not sure where Raymond came from. This page and the images posted here really shows the X in all its incarnations going strong. :)

Sorry, David, my mistake!

I am quite taken with the X, and the images here really show how good the X really is... Thanks for posting. I will try harder to be awake next time I post.:p

Apologies and Elmarits

Apologies and Elmarits

No need to apologize Dave..... all though that was a while ago now :)

And helenhill, I love both X1 and X2, and have an enlargement on my wall where I see it often made with X1. Now with your comment on the Elmarit aspect and attributes, I am curious to know what the X113 w "Summilux" would have done with this scene.....we'll never know :( Anyway I really like the tonality and in particular the whites here, and especially considering this is not full-frame. Thank you for posting.

The X1 is great because if one shoots a larger camera, folks freak out, but the X1 can pass as a cell phone and nobody cares!

Crazy!!!

It's fun to see this thread take off again.

Sepiareverb, my condolences. Those images especially the second one is special, and good you were able to capture it. I have one of my dad in his bedroom, just after he passed.

We went for a short hike in the Alps...I wanted to photogtraph the first snow but weather changed quickly and it was not yet there!

I took picture with my Rolleiflex and the Leica X1, I know for many it seems a strange gear combo but for me it works very well: it's small and light and offer the benefits of both world, analog and digital :)

Thank you folks. My sister arrived last night for a few days stay, she's not seen any of the stuff I shot then, we're planning a look through the cards.

I had the X1 for a while as well, and had the same reaction as with the 113: great camera, beautiful files, but the GRD shoots squares. The GRD does not have quite as smooth a rendition however.

I'm sorry for your lose. We lost our mother in the past 2 weeks also, I wish I had your courage to photograph her like you did. God Bless.
