Leica X2--Pics

Thank you both for the compliments! I'm getting there with this camera.

It works in kind of the inverse way from my GXR-M with 28mm lens ... There I tend to work manual focus and let the exposure be automated, here I tend to work auto focus and expose manually. It's the difference in control dynamics.

:)

Oh yes, this entire set was processed and output to video entirely with Lightroom 4.1. I only jumped into Flare on one shot (the second coffee mug) because I wanted the border frame on that one.

Last Saturday evening at the Mexican Restaurant for my birthday ...

Leica X2
ISO 6400 @ f/4 @ 1/25 s

Note that I had to add grain in Lightroom to get the feel I wanted. It was actually a little too clean ... !

Happy belated birthday! Nice shot, Godfrey. The guy on the left doesn't seem too impressed with your X2 :D

I think he was wondering what the gringo was going to do next... It was mighty crowded in the restaurant that night! :)

Thanks!

I'm so pleased you started these posts. I probably would have never considered an X2 if I hadn't seen your post but it is a viable choice for someone not able to get an M9. That's what I like about this forum!

Tony, thank you. To me it's like a digital IIIF with a 35mm Summaron. It's about the same size and easily fits in your pocket. Flash just in case. The fixed 35mm has made me a better photographer. I highly recommend both the X1 and X2.

Yep, the quality and the small size of these cameras is amazing as the above photos show.

Jim, that is the first photo I have seen posted of the Giants postwin street thing. Excellent and thanks!

Tony, I have been using the X1 for my documentary as I can no way afford an M9. Can't even afford a used M8 with a decent lens. But i don't miss them yet and I am really learning the envelope of what I can obtain with this excellent camera!

I carry it in my pants pocket or my sport coat chest pocket or even in my jacket pocket everyday and I forget I even have it after a couple of minutes. And that is with the A&A half case on it with an Op-tech thumb cuff in lieu of a strap.

I am considering a used D-Lux 5 for the telephoto end of things because I have everything from Macro tto low-light levels working just fine. But, alas, I have no money for one so I continue using the X1 alongside the M3 and I love it.

I highly recommend these cameras.

Very, very nice, Gil!

I really appreciate not only seeing the images out of the X2, but also seeing sites from another place that I will never be able to visit.

These are quite interesting in addition to being nice photos!
