Please forgive the SLR question...

I'm researching the best (reasonable) 35mm lens option for my soon to arrive Leicaflex SL.

I'm looking toward the summicron, but have heard good things about the elmarit(later) as well.

Does anyone have any thoughts? input? sample images? Lenses they might want to sell?

Thanks for the help!

With the Leicaflex SL you will be the owner of a camera with M Leica quality :)

I have one SL for more than 30 years. A perfect camera with its "selective metering"!

I personally use the Elmarit R 2,8/35.

A perfect lens, not heavy and not expensive!

You have to buy the latest type (E55 format).

A reasonable price is about €300,-

N.B the Summicron is much more expensive and heavier and is not a better lens!

I miss my Leicaflex SL! I sold it about 5 years ago.

I remember testing the summicron 50 VS a 50 1.8 Nikkor. The Nikkor lost big time.

I would recommend the 50 summicron and never look back.

I never tried the 35 Summicron R so I can't help you there...

Thanks, It's shipping with a 50 'cron. both the cam & lens look in great shape. I hope that holds true when they arrive.

I'm watching the tracking from toronto -- tick, tock.

Thanks for the tip on the elmarit Joop. I bid on one on ebay! (eek.)
