Hello folks!

I'm currently evaluating a lens and noticed a cloudiness but upon closer examination seemed to be a series of concentric circles on the surface of one of the inner elements.

I've attached a pic of what I'm talking about.

I'm inclined to pass on this lens as a consequence but I'd like to understand what I'm looking at.

Assistance is appreciated.
 
Unless its dirt cheap and you want a soft-focus lens, pass on it. It probably had severe fungus and was cleaned, but not professonally refinished.

If it is priced as a parts lens, that's one thing. But if they are trying to get real money for it, ...

This lens, a Steinheil Culminar, had similar cleaning marks. When bought, the front element was opaque. That cleaned off, but an interior element had been cleaned prior to me taking it apart. It had circular cleaning marks in the glass much worse than what you shoe here.
