Don't buy a FLQOO for the Summar. It vignettes. The FOOKH is just fine.
See my correction above.
Erik.
Hey Erik,
Thanks for noting the correction and saving me the trouble!

There’s also this vintage Walz screw-in hood — dunno how common they are:

Or you could MacGyver something like this SOOGZ + 12585H:

Also, SOOGZ + 12549 hood (for the 50/2.8 Elmar-M) works pretty well:

Yes that is the one I have that I mentioned in my post below. I do not think they are very common - I have had mine for over 20 years and have seen no other than the one I bought, and now of course, the one that appears in your picture. I think that for an after market hood it looks really very nice. (Though, that having been said Walz was (or is?) a good maker of generally high quality accessories.

Dimensionally, do you know if these are FISON copies?
You are likely still not looking at this thread, but it’s not dimensionally identical to a FISON; it’s approximately .75mm shorter, with a diameter approximately 4mm wider. It’s also better machined and finished than any Leica hood I own from that era. Truth be told.
It’s a lovely little thing, even if it suffers from the stigma of low price. Haven’t finished the roll yet, so don’t know if it vignettes, but I doubt it, from the looks of it. We’ll see.

I looked at these a while back and then found a rough FISON for less.

Just tested the FISON and the Chinese Haoge hood referenced above and neither vignettes on the Summar. FWIW.

The Haoge is very well made and close to identical to the original - it is actually almost 3 grams heavier than the FOOKH.
I use it on my Summaron 3.5cm, Elmar 5cm and Summar 5cm without problems.

I also bought the Haoge lens hood for my Summar and it works great. The finish on the hood and even the small engraved letters match the Summar to a T. Another advantage is it will fit the 50 f3,5 Elmar just as well.
