The 50 lux pre-asph is an amazing lens. I have the e43 type 2 and didn't use it until just recently. I've been a 35mm guy for a very long time and just started pulling the 50 lux out for night shots and have been blown away.
Here are a couple of shots with the 50mm Summilux Pre-ASPH E43 shot on the M6 TTL with Portra 400.

Also, if you're looking for some great shots with the lens, the user: SHΘ on flickr uses this lens almost exclusively (albeit paired with a Sony A7II), but you can see the amazing range of character this lens can put out.
Here's a link to SHΘ's flickr page:

I absolutely recommend this lens!!!

Image deleted due to it being shot using 50 asph. I should pay more attention to the title, doh!

let's see some color shots with this lens! does anyone else strongly prefer Summilux 50s for color?

The representation of color is only an approximation and therefore does not fit with the accuracy of photography.

That different B&W films have different sensitivities to wavelengths makes me question the legitimacy of this claim.

We do not have to exacerbate that problem by using a color film.

Having never used a 50mm Summicron v4/v5 (current type), could anyone say how it compares to the Summilux 'pre-ASPH'?
The smaller size and 39mm filter appeals and I rarely use f/1.4 but...
