Let's see your Leica M

Matteo,

This is a 17mm lens from Konica WaiWai P&S. I measured the aperture as f/9.5, the lens itself is just a strange two-element configuration, with behind the lens aperture:

The sketch is approximate, I couldn't measure curvatures. I should put up conversion process on the web, but there isn't really much to it other than making a hole in M bodycap, and setting the lens at the right distance, centered to the film plane.

I actually converted a viewfinder for it too. Not pretty, but all I could do with a couple of pliers and a sheet of brass:

No pictures yet - I just completed it this week. But to get the idea you can have a look at WaiWai Flickr group. Notice that in P&S the lens is fixed at close distance without infinity; I tried to cover infinity in the conversion.

Heheh how much did you pay? I had it in my head they wasnt cheap!
Not as much as you'd think. I got it for a bit over a grand with the Summicron included, more than 4k below market value! The guy had it in a closet for many years, only used it for some family snaps. 😱
My uncle went to visit his fiancee in Mexico city and picked it up for me, I'll have it in my hands on Tuesday, together with a pre-asph 35 Summilux 😀
