Let's see your Leica M

Matteo,

This is a 17mm lens from Konica WaiWai P&S. I measured the aperture as f/9.5, the lens itself is just a strange two-element configuration, with behind the lens aperture:

The sketch is approximate, I couldn't measure curvatures. I should put up conversion process on the web, but there isn't really much to it other than making a hole in M bodycap, and setting the lens at the right distance, centered to the film plane.

I actually converted a viewfinder for it too. Not pretty, but all I could do with a couple of pliers and a sheet of brass:

No pictures yet - I just completed it this week. But to get the idea you can have a look at WaiWai Flickr group. Notice that in P&S the lens is fixed at close distance without infinity; I tried to cover infinity in the conversion.

My first Leica, that I bought yesterday :)
It was cheap, due to some cosmetic issues. (but is working perfectly)
In the background, there are bottles with some freshly mixed Xtol

:D

Heheh how much did you pay? I had it in my head they wasnt cheap!
Not as much as you'd think. I got it for a bit over a grand with the Summicron included, more than 4k below market value! The guy had it in a closet for many years, only used it for some family snaps.
My uncle went to visit his fiancee in Mexico city and picked it up for me, I'll have it in my hands on Tuesday, together with a pre-asph 35 Summilux :D

M5 and 90mm f2 Summicron with Luigi case and soft release. Covering the M5's rather chunky loins with some of Luigi's finest leather does wonders and the largish 90mm Summicron suits its looks!

(who says they're ugly?)

:p :)
Just curious, what wonders does the Luigi case do?

pull it? kind of. I'm not sure that the ISO of 20 is accurate. read elsewhere on the site for opinions of other folks on this emulsion. the consensus seems to be that the box speed may be higher than the actual.

You mean "pull" it? I hadn't thought of that. Sweet!!
