OK. Here's my faithful companion for the last 10+ years...I also used a pair of M3s for many years, but have now simplified to just one M6 TTL body with a 35mm Summicron ASPH lens.
You have my congratulations with your new M 5; at last you are the owner of a M Leica with a real 'spotmeter'...🙂
"The unique M5 photocell design provides a highly accurate, tight 8mm diameter selective metering pattern. It is as close to real spot metering as it comes. The metering pattern of the M5 is considered a benefit to those who prefer the control actual spot metering provides over weighted averaging techniques."

Well, I finally tagged an M2 I could afford on the bay place (I got GAS due to my pals all showing off their gear), sold by Youxin - an old M2 that has been CLA'd but Frankensteined by someone adding a self timer and swapping out the button rewind for a lever.
It ain't gorgeous, but from what I see, it's sure purty. And it's my first Leica. I'll post a pic when it arrives.
...
Thanks for all the help, Roland!
Nice, nokton user - is that a Gordy strap?
One of my "new" M2s. This is a "before" picture.
I bought them to replace an M5 and an M6 .85 I've sold in order to get uncluttered and .72 viewfinders. I've had some luck on ebay as a newbee. In addition to the M2s, I bought a Leica IIIf and a Nikonos V (and a pretty CL to replace an ugly one), with money left over for CLAs and more.
My precious M7 and Summicron 50/2 with Gordy's strap:
When do we get to see the "after" picture of your M2?
