... mine looks more ... "battered" !! :D

I am down in the West of Tokyo, safe for now !

ahha! so you must be a m4-p hardcore fans. It is so pity that few people use m4-p here in my country, may be this is the reason why the price of m4-p remain at a very "affordable" level, LOVE & HATE :p

Best wishes to people in Japan!

Got my M2 back from a Youxin Ye CLA/Repair.
The M2 had a hole where the strap lug use to be. YY switch the body out with a M3 body so now I have Buddha ears & the lens release guard.
Simply gorgeous. Makes me want that lens :) BTW is that the original leatherette?

Just went through this thread. Love every single camera.

Can't wait to get myself a M6 TTL. Currently have a IIIF which is just lovely. But can't wait to upgrade. As soon as I do I will post!

Curious, why a TTL instead of classic?

I guess it truly doesn't matter. But the added option of ttl would be a nice feature.. I haven't really thought about it I guess. I'm stil new to the leica world.

I'm currently a student with no money and had a possible option to get a M6TTL with a payment plan so that might have been the reason..

Please be aware, that the TTL in the M6TTL only and exclusively means, that this adds TTL flash capability to the M6TTL.

The M6TTL anyway is very limited in all things flash (basically the same to your III).

The M6TTL also adds a slightly bigger body size and a shutter speed dial, that turns "the wrong way".
It is reported, that it's meter also eats batteries faster than the M6 (and it's successor, the new MP).

I would save the money and go straight to the M6 classic.
If you get very lucky, you might source one, which has been upgraded to the MP finder specs, which should then price around a very good M6TTL, but have a superior finder.

This would be a much, much more helpful feature, than being able, to shoot with the handful of Leica TTL capable flash units.

Any flash, fitting the M6 hot shoe contacts will work in A and M mode anyway ;-)

I agree shot for the M6 classic:p

Alright thanks! I will look into it. Most of the flash stuff that I would do anyway would be with a sync hooked to studio type lighting, most of the other time I would not use flash.

Now, are the upgraded M6's easy to find used? Or are they simply just impossible to find?

I prefer the TTL. The dial is easier to turn, the meter arrows point the way you should turn the dial (longtime Leica users call it the wrong way, but most would call it the correct way, or at least the most ergonomic), and the meter is more sensitive.

I also find my M6 sounds a bit smoother, though that could just be that my classic needs a good CLA.

Can't go wrong with either though.
