It had to happen...I caved in to Leica lust. My M2 arrived from a shop in Denmark last Monday. This is a bit of an hybrid, with M4 levers and quick load kit. 1965 vintage in good shape. Fantastic finder indeed, and such a pleasure to handle. It'll share lenses with my Hexar RF. Slow speeds sound a bit dodgy so it'll go for a CLA soon after I tested it with film. Curtains are sound, range-finder spot on and so crisp and clear. I can now really understand all the praise on this camera. Oozes quality.

M2 with 50 Rigid Cron.
Quite simply perfection. Wonderful kit, makes me wish I hadn't sold my m2.. just to look at and occasionaly hold in my hands

Really like the look of these 2 "camo" M6's julescasablancas's black version & OSFlanker's silver version.
I'm not exactly sure why they have such an appeal to me, maybe it's because they look so purposeful. Almost military in appearance.
Anyway, if I were to own a M6 I would have to own one of each.
...of course!

Is that an Avenon/Kobalux 21 finder, that came bundled with the chrome version of the Avenon/ Kobalux 21 ƒ2.8 Super Wide?
I have one of the last series black millennium lenses and love that glass.
The finder though is reported to be 1) huuuuuge 2) so so.
Sweet, thanks for that. I was told it could be but I was just checking. It is huge! I haven't used it at all, I might pick up one of the tiny Voigtlander 21/25 finders if I need one. But I think I'll get used to the lens without.

Joel, I found, that for as wide as a 21mm, I need a large finder with a good eye point, bright lines (not black frame) and minimum distortion.
I tried many different ones and ended up, using the Leica 21mm bright line finder as the best compromise between size and performance.
I never one of those very compact Voigtlander metal finders to try, but I suppose, they either buy their compactness through very low magnification, a small eye point factor, high distortion or a combination of these negative points - good for the odd finder usage, but bad, if your 21mm is often on the camera.
I find a external viewfinder essential for 21mm.

Merry Christmas to me. M9 joined me last week. I gave her a portrait for Christmas before she loses some of her red flair.

Very nice! What a beautiful pair!
I have a quick snapshot made of my new companion - a 1951 5cm ƒ3.5 Elmar - what a beautiful little lens this is!
I am eager, to get out and do some black and whites with this one!

OSflanker how did you remove the paint?
I did not remove the paint, I just painted over it using silver chrome Tamiya enamel modelling paint. Used paint brush for the period incorrect leica dot (my camera should have a "Leitz" dot instead of a "Leica" dot and an art instrument for the letterings.
