A black paint M3 is not complete without a black paint SBLOO.

Huub, do you have one for me? A black paint Summilux 35mm f/1.4 v1 will do too.
Thank you, Huub, only joking.

Well I don't know Johan. I do agree it'll take a lot of usage to wear through all those materials but I don't doubt that it can be done.
I'd certainly be interested in finding out more about this camera and the photographer. With kit like that he or she must be quite a character![]()
It takes a massive amount of effort to hand sand off the chrome and nickel. I've done it in the past on the odd spot left over when I've been stripping for my paint projects and it takes forever.
In this case I think it adds to the whacky look. I don't like it when it's done on a standard looking camera and been done to imply that the user is some kind of film burning photo god.
The only chrome M's that I've seen worn to brass are the old cruise ship M's and even then it was just edges (in certain places), shutter release and top plate next to the rewind making a nice arc.
For some reason I really like this repaint though.

I asked my friend for some more history on this camera and he said it had been dropped causing a severe dent at one corner. He sent it back to Leica and they straightened it out and repaired it. He said a lot of the wear was natural but did admit that he had re-painted the corners above the strap lugs black and had later removed this paint with sandpaper. He has several other M cameras that are all in immaculate shape I can personally attest that looks aside, in operation this is one of the smoothest working Leica cameras I have ever seen.

Got a deal I couldn't pass up on with this M2. Love black paint!
Perfect combo
Plan on using the BP exclusively for black and white film and alternate between color and black and white film on the chrome body
