Let's see your Leica M

Yes, Aki Asahi's 4034 leatherette is lovely. It's a shame it isn't produced anymore. It used to have Aki Asahi's 4008 on it (finer grain), which is also lovely.

My copy of the summilux has a very slight chip in one of the elements, which although having no impact on the finished picture, vastly reduces it's resale value. For this reason I have just kept it, given it a CLA and plan to keep it paired with my beaten up MP for life.

Indeed a shame that they stopped producing it. It's one of the best looking skins that I've ever seen. It seems that there's no replacement or any alternative that comes close to it.

Btw, lots of interesting and lovely photos on your blog ! Love 'em ! Do you shoot with your MP and the lux very often?

Not lately, because I recently bought the Nikon DF which has taken a lot of the attention away from film.

Here's my "new" M4-P, purchased from the classifieds last week. The front and top are blacked out, and the red dot has been removed. It also has the MP anti-flare viewfinder upgrade, an M3-style lens release guard and the 75/135 framelines have been masked out. Now I just need to wait until B&H re-opens so I can order film!

With my M3:

Cool lens, doc! Heading somewhere over GW? :)

Thanks, Jon! I wish but this year's GW is not really a week but two times a couple of days only so no trip. However, from 7th again to SPring-8 synchrotron where at the moment I just return from ...

Thank you Philip.

I picked up the body (impulse purchase) in the new year thinking it would be a great match for my Voigtlander 15mm. I've never been crazy about the 15mm. I comes in handy from time to time, but there's too much distortion in the corners for me. After reading a lot of good reviews about the 21mm I thought I'd give it a try (another impulse purchase). Needless to say I've been extremely happy with the lens. Such a great combo for street work.

Cheers,
_Harry.

Now this is a combo one doesn't see very often :) Very nice.
