I got to handle a 75 Summilux at Leica Day in Orlando, FL today. It does encroach on the finder allot. I also got to handle an M8 as well. Was not really blown away by it but did not think it was trash either. Felt kind of insubstantial in my hands. Put the M8 in one hand with 50 Summilux mounted and my MP3 with it's 50 Summilux in the other hand. The MP3 felt like it could beat up on the M8. That is just an observation though and says nothing to the performance of the M8. Also noticed something else. All the lenses that had the 6-bit coding were very stiff to mount on any M camera body. Makes me think they did not machine these as well as they could have been. There was allot of camera fondling in Orlando today.

The lens is a 50mm Nokton ... nice lens but intrudes into the viewfinder a little 'cause it's big. Looks good on the M2 though ... and after all style counts.![]()
yes, it intrudes into the VF even without any hood and filter. It's a lens more fitting to my M5 in size.

The last version one. I bought the M7 kit, because it is cheaper than I buy the lens apart. I like new lens more than old lens like 50 Rigid or 50 DR. My 35 is pre-asph one.

Don at DAG sells them - they're self adhesive, and only take a second to install.

Amen to that - I had a late screwmount one and it produced some knockout results. Sadly, it was sold to finance more Leica madness - oh, and the purchase of a Canon 35mm f1.5 ltm in mint condition. The Canon is a great lens (if a little quirky) but not quite as sharp as the Summaron wide open.
If it works for you, stick with it!
