Well after three weddings to photograph this weekend I rested today by taking more pictures! But with my new X-E1
I have not enjoyed a camera more since the early days of changing over to a Hasselblad in the days of film.
The X-E1 produced some astonishing good photos again today. Again good colour, and exposure. The tonal range in the mid tones for black and whites is lovely from my raw conversions and dynamic range in raw is equal to my 5D mk3. The only downside was the wall/streetlight pic at f22 was losing sharpness but hey, expected on a zoom and the 14mm will sort out this sort of shot at a later date (as well as the 35mm 1.4 .
Still hardly know that the camera is on my shoulder when walking about..a light weight with a big punch!
I did take it along to one of the weddings over the weekend and grabbed a few shots in jpg, not a great idea and realized that raw is the way to go with portraiture/skin tones. I will post more on this topic later in the week with some pix.
BUT.. I can see us quite happily changing to X Pro 2's within 5 years for weddings if Fuji do some good work with the new models that come forward. When we need to change our current cameras I will be thinking long and hard in the Fuji corner...And could be changing earlier than normal!
Here's a few pix from today...enjoy
