Light meter, hand held what do you use.

I have a couple of Luna Pro SBC meters and a handfule of attachments, including the 1, 5, 10 degree spot attachment. Thy have never let me down.

Sekonic L-308s, very small, very simple. The only thing I wish it could do is give me flash to ambient ratio like the L-358 and that it had a backlit LCD, otherwise it's perfectly fine.

My 2 favorites are the Weston Ranger 9 and Gossen Luna-Pro F but I've also been known to use the Weston Master V. The Gossen is good for very low light readings..

Gossen Luna Pro F - will do everything, but somewhat bulky. I have the spot adapter for it, but have never used it. I prefer incident metering, including for flash.

QLM replaced the selenium cell on my Weston V, and I love using it. Super accurate, and it has the non-standard shutter speeds and f/stops seen on older equipment.

I also have the Weston III, but the lack of needle trapping makes looking at the meter readout somewhat awkward.

Sekonic L-208 - very small, but the readings don't always match up with the others.

I usually use the Cosina Voigtländer VC II, it quite practical, accurate, small, and can be locked on the flash shoe of almost any camera put there.

I still use my Zeiss Ikon Ikophot which is after 60 years spot on!
Only for night shots I wish sometimes a CDS meter.

I use a point and shoot digital, if the camera has no meter..
I used Zeiss Ikophot for ages.
Also the old selenium meter that fit the M's.
Strangely when i use no meter, as with my M3, get the best results.

Sekonic Studio Deluxe for incident work (love 'em) or often the Voigtlander VC used handheld. I need to get one of the 9v powered Gossen's - like these too.

Oh yes, my most commonly used meter is my eye and brain. I don't need a meter for daylight work.

Gossen Digipro F. You have to screw off the dome to take a reflected light reading but I nearly always use it for incident metering. The dome swivels so it can face the user who can then easily read the large LCD read out. It is large and flat and light, perfect for an inside jacket pocket where it does not bulge and is easily retrievable. It has no dial, just 5 buttons on the face. The up and down buttons cycle through the options for the different menus selected by the left and right buttons. These choose aperture priority, shutter speed priority, EV recording and flash and ISO selection. The fifth button is for taking the reading. It has a single AA battery.

I have FotometerPro on my iPhone when I am definitely not in a hurry - app meters are so slow. It will also take an incident reading. I have my nearly forty year old Gossen Sixtar (Super Pilot in the US) but the CdS cell is slow and most readings seem to sit between the low range and the high range of the meter which is maddening.

I have the Gossen Luna Pro and Luna Pro SBC and F. Have attachments of both "spot" attachments, flash, microscope, and enlarger. Mostly the Luna Pro SBC gets used for reflective light.

For incident readings, I prefer my old Sekonic Studio Deluxe L-28c2. It just can't be beat. I have the full set of inserts for it as well.

Thanks for the reminders about Quality Light. I have an extra l-28c2 I would like looked at.
