My wife and I returned last Saturday from a two-week trip to Lisbon, southern Portugal, and Sevilla. First, thanks to everyone who responded to my earlier thread with suggestions about what to see and where to eat. Second... Lisbon: what a wonderful city! I enjoyed every second we were there and would go back at the drop of hat. Here's a sample of photos, starting with color shots. I'm still scanning the b&w.

A great set of images, Steve! Thanks for posting them. I'm so envious... Lisbon is now added to the 'must-do' list. By the way, did you see the Peter Tinley video linked in another thread here? He also thinks Lisbon is a superb city.

Very nice! There's something about Portugal, isn't there?
So many of the towns (and their inhabitants) can create very photogenic scenes.
We were there last year, but we did not manage to get to Lisbon - I'm now thinking that we should have tried harder.
Thanks for posting.

Steve, I like your photos, especially the ones that apeal to a wry sense of humor. I'm looking forward to your B&W shots. We were in Lisbon last December and loved it as we'll. it was such a laid back time, the light at time of the year was special. We didn't want to leave, and like you would love to go back.

Looks like a wonderful place to visit. Baixa was my favorite. More, please!

Thanks for sharing. Lisbon is a photographers dream, I'd love to go there again with the MM and shoot more bw as I did back when I loaded CN400 into my M3.
We rented a small appartement and after the taxi loaded us off at some corner it took me a good hr to find the actual address which was very close but the street name painted on the stone wall came off and no one seemd to know the tiny pedestrian walkway up some stairs. Start off to an adventure. Great City, great atmosphere, great people, great food, great light.

Raid may recall from his visit the "Eating Lane" in the Baixa District, complete with pushy waiters...

Lisbon is such a colorful city that I mostly shot color there, but I did take some black and white photos.

A few years ago, I was in Lisbon for a few days. I used XP2 and also color film.
We had a mini Lisbon RFF meeting!

Glad you enjoy the capiltal! Did your stay caught the St. Antony festivities? Next time in Portugal, try to visit Coimbra, is also a great city for photos!

Thanks! We just missed the St. Antony festivities, but saw them setting up (or taking down?) decorations in the Alfama District. Coimbra (and Porto) are definitely on the agenda for our next visit.

I also missed visiting Coimbra, but I was stuck in Lisbon at a conference.
