After owning a succession of RF and SLR cameras (mostly including Leicas and Nikons) over six decades, my wish to own a Contax came true recently i.e. a near mint llla : F276** + 50/1.5 Sonnar 1439****
After reading through a copy of the Instruction Book on line, I was surprised to see there is no reference (at least in "Step Three : Loading and Unloading film") to the Frame Counter, other than its location shown on one of the Description of Parts illustrations.
Having set and reset dozens of frame counters in my time not too perturbed , although this omission came as a bit of a shock; particularly as the Instruction Book contents (as one would expect) are very precise and clear.
Going off at a tangent, so to speak, I was delighted to discover that the small Lowepro Adventura shoulder bag in which I carry a Leica Delux 6 with its (Panasonic Leica look-alike EVF in place) around, is just the right size for the Contax with filter and hood in place. How great is that ?!!

Since reading Step lll more closely... I admit to wrongly suggesting that the Instruction Book omitted a written reference to the Frame Counter. In the section titled "The Loading", (pages 21 to 23), 22 includes the line :"By means of the (rewind knob's) knurled ring, turn the frame counter (5) either left or right up to 0"
