UK Region London RFF Meet: June 18

I'm in swindon. If my Young Persons Railcard is still valid I'll be able to grab a cheap day return for....*checks railtimes*....well thats plain crazy. Singles are £7.50 and a saver return is £25. Thats National Rail for you.

Something may have cocked up on their system, but those singles are cheap non-the-less.

Is there anyone joining us with a Bessa R3a? I scanned through everyone's sig, but didn't notice anything.

I'd like to get my hands on one, and give the 1:1 viewfinder a try; I'm very interested in this. Of course, auto-exposure doesn't sound like a bad idea, either. And then, once I have an M-mount camera, it makes sense to buy a tabbed 50/2 Summicron... Oh, it's a slippery slope!

If it is the 1:1 viewfinder you are interested in trying out I can bring my RD-1, it is not an R3a but the viewfinder is close enough, with frames for 28-35 and 50 equivalent to 42, 52 and 75 in 35mm terms, and the metering system is probably similar.

Well,

Very probably I have to be in Birmingham on the 17th. If this really happens I really like to join you guys in London on the 18th.
I suppose the propesed program is still valid?

I'm prone to getting completely {lost/disorinetated/mugged} in London (it's a bit bigger than Brum). Can someone who's going send me their mobile via. PM?

kully - I'm hopeless with london, but i can usually work out where to go without looking too much like i'm mugg-able.

If I can still go then anyone else who want's to meet at paddington station can exchange numbers.

Ash, I'll be using the train from Chippenham, I can catch up with you at Swindon as I have to change there anyway.

Manny, any preferred time to meet? There are two trains that get to Paddington at either 9:52 or 10:50. (prefer the later one, later start). Preferred leaving time is about 8:30 pm. Gets me back home before Monday then :)

Thanks for the mail Manny :)

My contact number has not changed since the March day out. Will PM it if needed again.

Camden Town Tube at 12.30 will be the time for me, train tickets have been booked. Ash, feel free to send a PM and I'll exchange contact numbers.

Will be good to catch up with the RF croud again.

Hey guys,

Looks like I'm definitely going. Was going to be getting some turtles and that was draining my funds, but I can't anymore so I'll have the cash for travel now!

See you all there I hope.

Fred - pm'd

Hi guys,
I had hoped to be nearer but plans have changed. I will be coming down by train instead and am planning on making the 12.30 Camden meet. If I can get down earlier will let you know. Can someone send me a Tony Blair (PM) with some phone numbers in case I get lost.

Kim

Hi Mango, Kim and everyone else
Sadly i'm not going to be down to London before the 20th my printing is going a bit slower than planned and i'm way behind and waiting on a paper order. Perhaps next time then? it would be nice to meet up with some of the RFF members - i'll be back in the UK in August for about a month.

Simon

I too am planning on making the 12.30 Camden meet, I will be travelling from Birmingham by train.
Has anyone any suggestion on how to grt the cheapest return tickets (websites or so)?
Please PM me with some mobile numbers in case (extremely likely) I get lost.

Cheers

I will be leaving the UK for my holidays on Aug 13 so it would be nice if we manage to do something before then.
Are you going anywhere near Birmingham Simon, we could meet for a beer.

Cheers

In some cases, I have even found that an off peak day return is cheaper than a single! Much of the price differences depend on the time you are travelling but on a Sunday, it should be a problem.

It might be worth checking out two singles as an option. I ordered mine last Friday with two singles working out less than half the price or the return

The cheaper options reduce in number as the travel date gets closer.

I'll be there with Fred at 12:30, unless I have to run a quick errand to pick up a camera from another member on the way

I'm a bit gutted I'm missing this one; they've all been good days out so far and there seem to be more people than ever this time.

Hope y'all have a good one. At least I know some of my ex glass will be there doing its thing :)

And I'll be along time; I have simplified, but I still have more than enough rangefinders to equip a small photo-school.

Tom

Hi,

Unfortunate I can't make it.
This week I'm in Russia (with the Bromica rf645 :) ). Monday I will be in Birmingham but need to spend some time with the family in the weekend.
2nd of July I will have a whole Sunday to shoot around Birmingham. Anybody around to show me the nice 'secret' places to shoot beautiful landscapes?

Cheers,

Michiel Fokkema
