This lens just grows on me the more and more I use it. It's an absolutely terrific street lens, just set it to f/8 or f/11 in sunlight and you're good to go. A little vignetting wide open, but great by f/5.6.

I just ordered one of these yesterday. I have to try my hand at it. It seems to me that this is the type of lens where you have to get closer to your subjects since it has the tendency to push the foreground away from the background.

Great lens. Good resolution, not much distortion, but you really have to watch flare - any light, especially the sun, in the frame can flare photos badly. But still a wonderful compact lens, easy to carry and use.

For the price it's unbeatable. Also, my preferred wide angle setup when shooting digital is a D700 with 17-35mm f/2.8 - a combo that's quite literally the opposite of an M3 with 21/4.
Anyone using it with the M9?
With or without corner fix DN?
DN, which code are you using on the M9?

Looks like you're doing it justice with the photos, Yossarian - making use of the coverage 21mm affords without an overly 'superwide' feel to the shots. It's a lens I've loved in every format I've used it with: on film (mainly on the CL), on the R-D1 (vignettes, but still lovely), and the M8. Looks the business with the LH-1 hood, too. I have the screw mount version, but am always keeping a half eye out for that M-mount bargain.

Hey boys....which is the better external VF for this, the plastic squarish one or that metal 21/25 combo?

Agreed. Terrific lens--I love mine and use it all the time--but yes, it's prone to flare. Sometimes the effect is cool, but just as often I takes away from an otherwise good photograph. Also, watch your fingers--more than once I've had to crop out my index finger from the bottom corner. But that's my own fault, not the lens's!

Another question please you blokes.
Are the various 21mm EVF's interchangeable with the other brands' lenses? That is, can I pair a Zeiss EVF with the CV lens, for example, without impacting the framing?
I'm only asking because I thought I read somewhere that the Zeiss 21mm EVF is the best, but I don't know how true that is.

I'm using the plastic VF, no issues here except it feels a bit flimsy. There's a bit of distortion but I barely use it anyways, particularly with street photography (just an occasional glace to spot check framing).

I don't know about the lens, but I do know that this is a brilliant shot...
