Hi everyone,
I used the 240 on a trip to Africa in fairly austere conditions (stayed with a tribe for a week). Needless to say, the IQ from the camera is impeccable. Also, it survived dusty conditions and a meter fall to the ground. Battery life is much improved compared to the M9/M8 although I didn't use movie mode or live view. The weight as it affects handling is negligible so long as you're gripping it properly (I fastened the strap as a hand strap). People were very vocal on the fairly subdued image of the camera, most referred to it as looking rather 'unprofessional' which I took as a complement.
The only problem I noticed was after about 5+ seconds of leaving it on and then taking another photograph the camera would tend to 'lock'. Furthermore, it was a little slow in 'waking up' for a shot compared to other cameras near its price range. But it's not severe enough to affect process, more of a slight annoyance.
Overall, I think the M is the maturation of the digital Leica lineup and am very happy with the direction of product development albeit the expense.
I hope this helps people with a decision on whether to upgrade or to jump in!
For those interested in some of the photographs, they are on my personal site.
