London, for now...
After buying the world's worst M2 (probably) I managed to get a refund and went and splurged a bit more dosh on one from a dealer I trust. This one is just fine. Here's a couple of quick-and-dirties shot on the way back to work.

M2, 50 f2.8 Elmar, Tri-x, sunny 16

Mark - congrats on finding a good M2. You'll love the clean frame lines.

Do you use a hand-held meter at all or just use your brain?

Congrat's Mark...

I am certain you will quickly find the shooting experience with the M2 is really unique. I find it to be a fun camera and it is my favorite rf to use and I have several to choose from. Best of luck and happy shooting.

Thanks all. I'm just using the meter in my head at present, Robert. I was already in love with the clean frame lines on the duff one. That's why I didn't just take the money and run when they offered a refund but went straight out and bought a better one. I think I may be selling an M6TTL in the near future.

Nice, good to know you got a better camera!

In light of my recent stresses, fancy PM'ing me the names of the two dealers so I can make a mental list of who to buy from and who to avoid please??

Ash,
Ffordes have always given me a great service and always delivered on time, their kit is usually better than described. Classic camera in London are good but a bit more pricey and MXV are very good but they only have very limited RF gear.

Since getting the M2, I hardly ever use either the M6 or the M3. Somehow (maybe it's the uncluttered, very bright viewfinder), the M2 is just more enjoyable to use.

Congratulations on getting a good one. The build quality of the M2 is identical to the M3, but many of them seem to have suffered more abuse, for some reason.

Good luck with the new addition, Mark. Hoping mine will turn up tomorrow. You'd better PM the names too, just in case I've just bought your duffer! 😀
