M3 Shutter

I shot 2 rolls of 200 asa film with my M3 and only about 4 shots came out. After getting home I opened the back to view the shutter and saw that it didn’t fully open and leaving about 1/8” of the shutter showing not fully open on most speeds. I guess I can send it to California to a repair person Ye——-. The only repair person in Houston has retired so that might be a choice.
I tried repeatedly firing the shutter with the back open and it keeps not fully opening.

Yes, Youxin Ye is a well regarded repairman. He is located in Canton, Massachusetts, not California.

Another vote for Youxin. He's repaired a few bodies for me and has done great work.
Sounds like the shutter is capping on your M3, which is not uncommon when the shutter needs adjustment and/or lubrication. Any of the other mentioned repair folks would be able to handle this also. My M2 did the same when I first bought it about 15 years ago. It's been running perfectly since.

I sent DAG my M4 for shutter repair. He mailed it back yesterday. Total time from me mailing it to him has been 2 weeks
