M4-P, should I take it?

I bought it!

-Black M4-P, user condition, from the original owner.
-Black Summilux 50mm, type 2, user cond., optics like new.
-Black MR-4 meter, user cond., works very nicely.

The whole package a bit under $2k including CLA and 6 months warranty. I think I made a good deal. Leica gear is generally more expensive in EU than in US - and there were other takers if I'd turn it down...

Am I happy? Yes... YES!!! \o/

Well congrats and have fun with it. Would like to see a picture!

btw, I see your from helsinki. Was there about 2 months ago for a architectural school project. Lovely city!

Wrong. That lens is the pinnacle of Leica lenses and Mandler designs, and, until 2004 ran circles around any other fast 50 out there. :)

Roland, sometimes I am glad that I don't have your wealth of knowledge about lenses and their qualities. :D

Maybe it's just me, but I'd sell any lenses that I would not use, no matter how good it is.

Good point about the M4-P having steel gears to enable power winder use. I do have an M4 that was CLA'd a few years ago and an M4-P, that as far as I know hasn't had a CLA, and the differences in use between the two WRT to wind on is minimal. In use I can hardly tell the difference in smoothness of the wind on.

Jeepers, NOW I know why I have no wife or girlfriend! I spent all that money on photo stuff!

Hey, I don't have a boyfriend, but if I did, I would love one who bought camera stuff!

(then when we'd fight, I could talk him into giving me his gear as a 'make up gift - heh heh. Oh, no.. did I type that out loud?!?)

I thought make-up "gifts" were .... oh, never mind...
