m4-p steamed

I just bought a m4-p from a repairman. It happend that the finder was a little steamed up so I told him to clean it for me and he did. After I got home I realyzed the window illuminating the bright-line frames was still steamed (like with little water drops). Should I ignore it or should I take it back?

that is a bad thing to see in your camera. Moisture inside the body. . . definitely something that would NOT be a good thing, it might even harm the film (if you left a roll in it for a while). Perhaps that camera had been submerged before - like dropped in a lake and that repairman repaired it but was unable to totally dry it out.

Im an ignorant, sorry! The viewfinder was a little blurry, that was all, but when I came home I saw the "window illuminating the bright-line frames" and I related it to the blur image in the viewfinder. Now after looking carefully at it I realized that this window has a sandy-bubblely texture. Could anyone who has a M4-P to confirm this for me.

I have an M4-2 that has the same "steamed up" look and I think my M-2 had the same look.

I think you can ask the repair guy use a blower to make it dry first and than do a CLA service.

BTW: It might be the tempture change, if u use the camera in cool weather and than take it into a warm airconditioned room, this also affect the lens...

The illumination window for the VF frames is intended to be "frosted" or as you say "steamed."

If it were not, you would see the objects in your field of view in the frame outlines themselves, rather than seeing a bright but semitranslucent outline.

I have an M4-P and I concur with JNewell, yes the illumination window is frosted with a faint textured appearance. If your finder (the part you look through) had moisture in it then no, that would not be good.
