These posts about the good old film days when Leica was a professional camera and not luxury run contrary to history. the first luxury 'Leica's ugly gold plated things with lizard and snakeskin leather were built in a series of 200 each - in 1929 and 1930... The "professional"M6 has the most special editions of all, dozens are known. The M8 and M9 can take a beating with the best of them.
