Will the canon 580EX flash work on a Mamiya 7II?
I'm picking up this camera soon and would like to know is this combo will work.
Thanks

Please test it for us! I have the 550EX and would love to know if it will work, probably in manual mode, on other hot shoe cameras.

I'm quite sure it will work with the hotshoe, just not in TTL mode. Auto mode should be okay using synch connection or hotshoe.

i use the 580ex with the 7II with no issues. just remember to set special function 5 to setting 3 and it works great.
Cheers,

qruyk12 - thanks so much for your response. I was wondering if I could use my 580EX with the M7II, and the CF setting was the missing link!

Flash for 7 or 7II
Flash for 7 or 7II
You can use Vivitar 285HV is you need a lot of power. Otherwise the Nikon sb-20 Sb-22 are great little flashes for almost no money. If you can find a Nikon sb-28 for 100 bucks you will not be sorry either.
PS.. do not waste your money on the SB-28DX as you will not need its extra features.
