I have interest to get a Mamiya AFD as I have already several years a ProTL and I'm very happy with it. But I'd like to add a basic digital back to it and finding one for the ProTL is too hard.So stepping to an AFD looks like the easiest way.
I know the lenses of the ProTL will fit, and that there will be a focal length multiplier like between FF and APS-C in 135.
But can someone tell me how well they work together? I'm stuck with questions like:
- will the ligthmeter work?
- is AE possible?
- is it worth it or a journey into frustration?
- what software?
- easy to focus manually (is there a split prism or so)?
I'd like to hear from someone who does use an AFD this way.
