Hello,
I am proposing to make (informally) March the month in which we try to take more excellent photos and try not to add more equipment on our buying list. It shouldn't be that hard a thing to do. Have we reached a point where buying more equipment is more fun than actually going out with what we have and taking good photographs? I hope not. Even if nobody will follow my recommendation for March, I will try to do it myself.

Loadsa guys here like gear more than photos.

Jon: This is what I have noticed, and I want to avoid falling into this category. While I have lots of equipment, I also use most of it and take many photos regularly.

I'm in...unless my local photo shop puts on a good sale! I hope to shoot 3 rolls of film in March.

Joe,
Is my proposal so "terribly bad" ? Come one. It's just one month. Imagine the beauty of April when we can go back and buy stuff! It will be even more enjoyful. It's like going ona diet and being deprived of chocolate cake with cream for a month, and then you are "allowed" to indulge in artery filling and blood vessel clogging chocolate lust again!

Raid,
Let's see...March in upstate NY: ugly weather, difficult light, no new gear. Sounds like a blast! I'm in.
Don't know if I'll have any photos worth sharing but it will be a challenge and that will be fun.
I do need( 🙄 ) to replace my camera bag but I'm not in any hurry so I'll have more time to search out what I wan-sorry-need.
And I guess if you can get enough people to do this then March will be the month to buy ebay stock at reduced $ ! 😀

Yesterday, I saw a posting here in the website from someone who listed many nice items, and then I told myself, "this will never end". There will always be more good deals and I will keep on buying like many do, and then what? I decided to go Cold Turkey, as Joe says, and I wanted to share with you this simple idea. Maybe if we used what we have better we will actually have a btter diea what to buy next if we need anything and if want it. There will always be someone who actually needs the stuff, but if you already have dozens of lenses and many cameras, are you really using all your lenses and enjoying them? I guess, I am not trying to put down collectors, but encourage those of us who enjoy photography to do more of it.
