March Challenge: Photo and no equipment buying

I learned long ago not to make "promises" like that.

And I always shoot at least a whole roll testing new cameras and lenses.

Whole roll last week EACH with a Nikkor and Nokton.

Now I'm thinking to myself, what should I put up at RFF next month...

I'm in... But I haven't been buying anything anyhow... 🙂 College will do that to you. Unless an amazing deal on a MF camera comes along... I've been looking for a while, though. But it's hard to find a MF SLR in my price range! lol...

I shoot about a roll a week, sometimes more. Most of it for class, with my Canon Eos, so I don't get to post much here...

It's both a good and a worthwhile goal. The final day of PMA is March 1, so I can use
that month to plan what I want to lust after next.

I mean that the way Jimmy Carter meant it: "Lusting in my heart".

Being broke should help, too.

My federal tax refund should be coming soon. I'd consider it self-inflicted cruel and unusual punishment to have uncomitted funds and not splurge on some gear. Good luck guys.. this man has no will power.

Dunno what your price range is, but MFSLR has never been this cheap. They're throwing them away. And it's a hoot. I notice a huge difference in people's reactions. Freaky Camera Syndrome can work marvels for getting more natural or interested responses from folks. Especially waist level shooting - I get a little bit of "eye parallax" (looking at my face not the camera) but it's worth it to get more natural facial expressions.

I won' t be taking part in the challenge - I don't mind how much equipment I buy. The only thing that matters to me is that I use it, take photographs, and love photography.

I agree that it sounds like a plan... fortunately, my wife had already declared March to be a "No new acquisitions month" for any of us, so I will have familial reinforcement to shoot and not buy.

I'm in. I am doing it in fact since a few months!! It works!! OK, it helps that the circumstances don't allow me buying any gear. Other than film.
Film does not count of course!

No promise from me. I haven't bought camera equipment for months--actually for over a year. (I get my kicks, sort of, by reading about and seeing the pictures of others' purchases.) The air, for me, is charged with possibility!

It's not a bad idea at all. In fact, I just unloaded a camera here because it was sitting unused for the past 3 months. I have a feeling 3 months is nothing to a good sized group of us. I still have 8 business days to buy gear in February before the month of no gear acquisitions sets in. I'm only getting a scanner anyway, no true camera gear.

I just paid today the university bill. I've been two semesters out (only had the final project pending and you only pay for your right to defend it, so it doesn't have sense to pay while actually doing it cos you can end paying two or three times...).

To put a long story short, it ran me more than my M2...

So, either it is not getting anything or it is trading only or maybe even directly selling...

So, I am in, we could just declare March as the GASsed out month, and maybe make a promise to use all the eBay browsing time in shooting assignments and working with our portfolios instead...

...promises 🙄
