I'm allowed ! I'm an exception ! Really !
I'm allowed ! I'm an exception ! Really !
I've been caught bidding on a Summar on yaBe in the last few days, but the "don't buy in march" doesn't count for me, honestly !
Over 15 years ago, I got into photography with an Olympus OM-1, a 50/f1.8, a 35-70 and 75-150 zoom and a 300mm. I got rid of everything except the 50 and 75-150 when I got my OM-3 with an 28/f2.8. Then I got a bit of a buying spree around the millenium change (P&S, OM-4Ti, 50/f1.4, 90/f2, 200/f4, 1.7x frontconvertor). Of those, I mainly use OM-4Ti+28-50-90, though I would take the 200 on holidays with a lot of nature. I didn't add to my gear until this februari when I got my Zorki with the Industar-22.
In total, I spent less than €2000 on equipment. I've collected plenty of reward points by not buying stuff in the past years, really, I deserve a present ! I think I will even be able to refrain bidding on a Leica iii if it has a Summar attached 😉
As for the second part of the bid, I've started taking more "boring" pictures a few months ago. I noticed I got the tendency to try to find something to see and take a picture of that. Tourist reflex, I guess. I'm happily taking pictures of just about anything that I see nowadays & I'll see where I get. I had the nagging frustration of not shooting enough, and the Zorki is the perfect carry-everywhere camera to solve that problem.
