March, Nikon RF Month!

I don't know about you guys, but although the month is coming to a close I still have half a dozen rolls to develop!

So someone had to do this...how about some E6 shots from Nikon RF gear?

Here's a little mountain stream, taken with my Nikon SP and Nikkor 2.5cm f/4 on Provia. The pronounced vignetting is pretty crazy...I frequently bracket with this lens and sometimes I blend two shots together, as I did here. IMO, this lens is brighter by maybe a stop in the center area than maybe the aperture would indicate! Of course the bright subject and deep shadows here makes things especially difficult. Oh, this was shot at f/16 so the vignetting is still there even then...

I am cycling" through some black 50mm Nikkor f1.4's. I found out that I had three of the classic 50's and 60's version. You can easily accumulate several of these as Nikon's more often than not comes with a lens when you buy a body. Not a big problems - as they are very good lenses, even by todays standard.
This is the Croation Educational Home in the Strathcona district in Vancouver. I just like the type-face and the wear on the sign here.

Coming to the end, some rolls of PanF to ring the changes with the 10.5cm which had not been exercised earlier waiting to be souped but today just mopping up some of the Fomopan 100 1+5 @ 5mins.

This the early Cherry Blossom, Sakura, taken over slightly @ f1.4 or 2 to emulate the lightness of the blossom, this with the Olympic 50mm f1.4 which seemed appropriate.

Last couple with the 50mm f2.5 Skopar, just caught the table being cleaned for the first lunchtime customer.

Finally the job that you would never persuade me to do. I drew a group when I stopped no one had noticed them before.

I got a bunch of shots of of the same flora phenomenon here in Seattle, but am still waiting for several rolls to come back from the lab. But I still may be able to post them, fingers crossed.

It was a great month, showing the quality's of our true loves the Nikon Rangefinder.
Hopefully we'll have a few convert's coming over to our side and leaving that other
rangefinder club, No Names please but we know who they are.

I do have a case and caps for a Nikon RF 50mm, so that's a start. I don't know why, but after all these years of shooting Nikon SLRs, I just never thought about going with the rangefinder until recently. Owning a Contax IIa did however pique my interest. But there are so many great cameras out there, I kind of go with what's readily available, and run with that until the next one comes along.

All the photos from the March exercise are wonderful, and really show off the build of the Nikon RF system. Bravo to all!

Well, we are getting to the end of the Nikon Rf month. Possibly the only difference for me has been that the Leica MP with a Nokton 35f1,4 has been sitting on the desk for 31 days - and not fired once - still got a roll from February in it! By the time I have processed the last couple of days of exposed film - it will be pretty close to 45-46 rolls - but the crappy weather did put a bit of a damper on walking around with a camera. The best part of the Nikon Rf month has been looking at what other people have shot - both in black/white and colour.
This strange face appeared on a wall here - the stucco had fallen off and what looks like either an animal face or some ghostly apparition appeared. I did under expose on purpose to drop the value on the dark grey wall - and admittedly played with contrast in Light Room to give it some "punch"

The old Grist Mill at the same location as above, with lots of sparkling coins thrown into the trough. This is what the slide looks like. I don't know why it's so magenta. This is relatively fresh Velvia.

Just because the March Nikon Rf month is over - does not mean that I will stop using them! Too many Nikon cassettes loaded for that. Probably go back to my usual "mixed" bag of cameras come tomorrow.

Rush process and scan so the last upload for the month, it has been brilliant, thanks to all contributors. Also to the viewers I see the view count on the thread is satisfyingly high.

These on Ilford PanF + in TD-201 3min A&B Lens, the first and last outing in the month, for the 10.5cm f2.5. Venue was the Brockholes wildlife reserve at Preston, a lovely afternoon walk, quite warm but very hazy sunshine most of the time.

Usefully quite strong at one point for this shot.

The roof of the visitor centre is clad in oak shakes – rough tiles formed out of tree stumps.

A window in the centre had a transfer or etching on the glass, made for an interesting exposure estimate.
