May I ask some beginner questions?

Jim, are you referring to LR 1.2 or an update by Evening for LR 1.2? The only update to the book that I see on the Peachpit site is the v1.1 book update.
 
So we have not the same OS apparently. I use OS 9.2, OS 10.3 and OS 10.4.6 personally but after 20+ years use of Classic, OSX is a pita to me so i use the latter as less as i can.

Then exactly like 10.4.6 so why did you say 'It has been a long time since I have seen the word "finder" in my menus'? Well never mind this has nothing to do with the topic anyway.
