me, and my M

While delivering a firefighting course in Belgium last year I was caught in a couple of images with my M4 by a participant. He uses a Sony DSLR BTW.

Washington DC and Northern Virginia photos of me with my Leica's......

Twoof me, first was just taken 3 weeks ago, I was shooting three Battalion Change of Command ceremonies at Ft. Pickett, VA. The second was on the 4th of July in downtown Washington, DC (where I met my buddy Pedro Motta).

First photo is actually my father taken in 1967 when he worked for the Wichita Eagle Beacon. The second is a version he took of me in 1987 with my own gear (his Leica and 400mm f/4 Sport Fern Kilart were long since sold).

Great stuff! And that is one hell of a corduroy suit! And the polo neck sets it off nicely :)

Great example of what can be achieved with the Summaron 2.8 even in low light. Obviously there are situations where a faster aperture is really necessary, and where the Summaron is not perfect.
For this picture, with a faster lens one might have been tempted to use f2, f1.4, and DOF would have been smaller, blurring the face in the foreground too much. Great capture!
