How did you process these files, particularly the last one with the hiker? The colours are very natural yet still punchy. My first photos from Q3 28 (not the new Q3 43, that I thought I would prefer!). Really enjoying this camera and the crop options which keep the wider FLs plus good resolution at 35 and 50mm.
Taken along the edge of Lake Galena in Peace Valley Park, in Bristol, PA.

These were shot at 5500 K at ISO 200 for my daytime setting. I did not adjust white balance or colors in the RAW files, so it's straight from the camera. No adjustments made for saturation or vibrance. I made some fine adjustments of sharpness and contrast, especially for the cyclist on the bridge where the AF was not on her or the bike. The hiker was shot wide open at f1.7, but I stopped down all the way to get some star effect in the sundown shots over the lake.

I just saw a Q on Ebay for under $500 from someone with 0 reviews. Nope, not chancing that.

The most I would do is ask the seller why the really low price - damaged? Or did he/she mean the low price to be a starting bid for an auction? And if little or no positive feedback score...yeah, too good to be true.I just saw a Q on Ebay for under $500 from someone with 0 reviews. Nope, not chancing that.

I have just found this thread and it is provocative. I have had my interest pricked by the release of the Q3 43 because of all the stir it has caused. And the more I read about it the better it seems as a way to capture a technically good image. The art of it is up to the operator, still. The price is a bar and I have a not too secret dislike of the company, probably marketing, while liking the gear, engineering. It is an overused word but "disrupter" applies. And lots of people like working with it and get good captures as a result of the hardware and software.
So I will be following this thread to learn what I can about this direction that Leica has taken, a tangent, which has become so successful. The Q's are an interesting solution to how to get a good photo.

Some more from the Q3 wide.

Met them and their classmates on the trail. A working dairy farm, the Fox Chase Farm is owned by the School District of Philadelphia and included in the curriculum for high school students. Miles of great trails for hikes and running surround the pastures. Love the changing light and scenery each season.

I arrived before the opening of this farmers market on the Fox Chase Farm.

Early morning light on a creek adjacent to the one of the pastures. A bit too busy a scene for me, but the colors and reflections were striking.

The blue bridge and the fall colors, magic.

Recently bought a used Q2 for a good price. Aside from the price of the Q3, which is prohibitive, felt that I didn't need 60 Mp or a tilty screen, so the Q2 seemed worth trying out. I'm finding that I really enjoy using the camera. The size, the ergonomics, the sensation of weight and build quality, the simplicity of use, are very rewarding. AF is fine. Cropping works very well. I like setting the crop mode to 35mm which gives me framelines through the EVF, and still have the full image in Lightroom. I haven't been able to get out and take many photos recently, so don't want to comment on the image quality, although it certainly seems very good. But not head and shoulders above my Fuji XH2 with 40 Mp. The sample shot below is from raw, uncropped, with some edits for brightness and color. I've been pretty much a 100% .jpg shooter and working with raw is taking some getting used to. The files seem dull by comparison and need some adjustment, to me.

Enjoy your Q2! Has the features that make the Q series fun to use. That's my main criterion for shooting with Q3; it's fun to shoot and gives nice results. The Q used market is a great opportunity to get in the game. What strikes me from all the reviews and all the folks who post about using it is that they enjoy the camera. They enjoy shooting with it. Not that they have fun with it but enjoy it. I think "enjoy" outlasts "fun". And that enjoyment seems to come from the ergonomics and OS of the camera, plus, of course, the lens and sensor. And now the Q3 43 seems to have hit the sweet spot for most users I have read.
So it took a young outsider from Sweden to design an extremely popular Leica that still "looks Leica" while presenting an entirely new platform of operation. AFIK this is full auto, full manual and all in between. It has multiple aspect ratios and that variable crop factor. The APO lens itself when offered by itself in the closest length is about the cost of the Q3 43 so that makes it a pretty better deal. LOL
It seems to me that the Trolls of Wetzlar found the sweet spot with this one. A sweet spot in everything but price. That sweet spot is in their Accounts Receivable. OTOH the cameras hold their prices well. Buy one, drive it for a year and sell it and you get away with a pretty cheap rent.
