does anybody know the module number that metz use to make to give ttl with their flashes for the bronica rf? i've been in contact with the metz dealer in the uk,they have confirm that they use to make one but it not listed on the metz web site anymore.was told that they would come back to me but haven't heard anything up to now.
diolch yn fawr.

TTL with an RF645? I don't think it's possible as the manufacturer would have needed to build a sensor into the body. As far as I know, the only metering is exposure metering through the finder. I'm not aware of a flash meter in the camera.

Does anyone know if there's an SCA300
module that will work with the RF645?

The Bronica dedicated flash is expensive,
and I already own a nice Cullmann flash...

For the ETRSi/SQ-Ai, Metz list the SCA 386, but nothing for other Bronica moddels.

Any idea if the contact arrangement and functions
are the same on the RF645 and ETRS/SQ-Ai,
or where I can find out?

Hi,
Afaik there never was a module for the rf. But do you really need it? Put the flash on auto, make sure the apertures are the same and fire away. Works for me.

Yep - works for me too, none of my cameras have TTL, and using the flash on auto works fine for me too, even with a dSLR.

I use a simple hotshoe adapter that has a PC connector for the flash sync cord. The RF645 might even have a PC connector.

The dealer may be thinking of the Bronica ETRS series of SLR cameras, which are 6x4.5 format and thus he may think that's what you mean by "Bronica 645."

Just to be clear, there's no sensor in the Bronica RF645 to do TTL flash metering. It's not just that the module doesn't exist, it's that the camera does not have a TTL sensor with which to measure the light reflecting off the film plane. Therefore, one simply cannot do TTL-OTF flash metering with a Bronica RF. The camera simply can't support it.

However, as others have rightly said, there's no reason not to use autoflash sensing from any modern flash. It's not TTL, but that's only a minor handicap if you understand how autoflash works. I use a Metz CT-60 with my Bronica RF when I need more flash power than the RF20, or when I want to bounce the flash.

(and yes, the RF645 camera does have a PC socket for use with any PC cable. The hot shoe should work with a standard shoe-mount flash also. When using an external flash, make sure that the triggering voltage is suitable, or you can damage the camera. I checked this long ago, and the Metz 60-series flashes are safe to use with the Bronica RF)
