Yes, to be fair, the scanner may have worked perfectly well on his system.
I don't know if the original Minolta software will work on your Mac, but it is worth a try.
Are you sure that the film holders are mounted correctly and offer no obstruction?

What's last OS which works with the scanner on windows? 7 or xp?

Are you sure you are not somehow blocking the calibration area?

XP on Windows and 10.5.8 on a Mac
I'm not going to be particularly helpful here but I remember some time back seeing this problem on the 'net and it transpired to be a Vuescan setting and not a hardware fault. I run my Multi Pro on a Mac with no problems and also from my Windows laptop on XP. In both instances I use the Minolta software. It may be in your interests to try this to establish the machine is functioning as it should.
The software can be acquired from the Yahoo Group were a link will be available.
Setting up a Multi Pro is critical and these are the steps using the OEM software on a Mac
Load software
Re-start
Disk utility - repair permissions
Shut down
Attach Firewire cable
Switch on Scanner
Wait for green light to stop
Turn on the Computer

try going to hamrick software website and download the latest version of Vuescan that's compatible with your OS. I recently had a problem that when I scanned with Multipro,I got only half of the image, the rest was white with acid-green band at the edge. When I switched to my second scanner (also Multipro) it was happening, too. I tried to switch the software to default settings, turned it and PC off and on, nothing doing. Then I downloaded the latest version of Vuescan, and the problem went away. I love Vuescan, especially that it allows one to scan in RAW. But for all its plusses it still has plenty of quirks.
