There you go kids. Just minor stuff, interestingly the x10 got an update as well which allowed to the RAW button to be user programmable - so I'd assume the x100 will receive this update soon, and this will make the camera SO much better to use IMO.

Otherwise, fuji don't state any operational upgrades, but I am 90% sure that the AF on my x100 is a little more stable. It seems to be a tad quicker, and a tad more 'sure' with less 'jittering' noises, just more straight to the point. A couple of others have said the same thing on other forums.

Report any differences you notice! :D

Is there still no way to access Auto ISO as part of the ISO speed range? I find it inconvenient that I have to access deep into the menu to turn Auto ISO on/off, when my DSLR lets me pick Auto ISO as part of the ISO speed selection menu.

Nope, hasn't been changed.

I love it that they still haven't corrected item 1 of the major firmware upgrade where the command wheel can be locked. It was always possible for it to be rocked.

Is it just me/my x100 or does everyone else's exposure compensation dial not work anymore. It doesn't matter if I turn it accidentally anymore, but I can't use it at all anymore

I feel like my AF is a bit snappier too, and I thought it was my imagination initially since Fuji didn't mention AF as a part of the update. But then I started reading it everywhere...

It's better in low-light too, I'd say.

Mine still works after the upgrade. Try a reset from the menu to see if this helps.

Edit:

After thought. Are you on fully manual speed and manual aperture? In which case the compensation dial doesn't work

Yeah, that would be a big deal. Very irritating as it now stands.

I agree that the AF speed seems noticeably faster after the update. Strange how Fuji didn't mention that.

I also look forward to the RAW button acting as another Function button, and for Auto ISO to be included in the ISO menu.

Make sure you format the SD card every time you put it back in the camera after connecting it to the computer. If you don't, this is what causes slow startup.

My experience is that happens only when the card is not safely removed / ejected by OS from card reader, which leaves the file format in unclean state. Formatting card will clean the mess.

Might be something to do with the good old japanese corporate pride - just sneak in some 'under the hood' improvements and you can claim it was that good all along ;)

I've got a feeling we might even get the new 's' and 'c' negative film simulation modes in the next major update. That would be amazing.

Does this update cover all the prior updates as well? I bought my X100 second hand and I'm not sure if any updates have been done. Is there a way to tell?

Yes covers all previous updates.

To check your version hold down the disp button while turning on.
