Hello everybody!

I recently got a CL in amazing condition. When i received it i cocked the shutter and released.. all good. Now i wanted to load the first film, even have the manual infront of me!

So when i got to the point of cocking the shutter slightly to get the little teeth in the camera to grab the film, nothing works. I can't pull the lever anymore to advance the film, neither does anything happen when i press the shutter release.

Since the camera came from a Shop and i doubt that anything is broken, i wanted to ask if i missed some kind of trick. Something like this never happened with my M2 and i don't want to break anything!

*Edit: It started working again somehow, so i went out to shoot a few frames at night. after 3 or 4 frames the same thing happened again!

Thanks for your help!

I've encountered this on mine a few times. If you remove the lens and look into the camera, you can see the meter arm mechanism that slides into the body on the left side when the shutter is depressed. When mine got stuck in the way you're describing, i just pushed the meter arm in towards the body gently, and everything got unstuck.

Unfortunately, I'm now running into another issue where the meter arm doesn't tuck itself fully into the body, blocking some of the frame. Bummber.
