Hello, I have the possibility of getting an leica r3 with a auto tamron zoom (38-100mm) zoom lens, by 200€! Should I? Is the lens good? Or I'm just paying the value of the camera body?
Need advice!

What are you going to get? R3 is (should be, if I'm not wrong) a quite old manual focus camera: are you aware of that? No idea nor for the zoom, I never heard such focal lenght it must be quite old too (nor I ever heard of any Tamron for Leica lens, aside maybe a M42 mount??).

R3 is about 30 years old now. The Tamron might be Adaptall mount...

There's no point in getting a crummy old R3 if you don't have some Leica lenses to put on it.
An old zoom Tamron is probably an OK lens, but no prize package.

The Leica R3 is a mid-seventies camera with a lot of Minolta technology.
Nice if you like cameras from that era and can afford €200.
The lens sounds odd odd odd so budget for a Leica R lens at some point.
And enjoy the slightly retro feel.
There are plenty of people here at RFF using much older Leica M cameras and lenses.

Thank you for the replys! I prefer manual focus cameras, that's not an issue. My reflex are old manual cameras (kiev, pentax spotomatic, mamiya) and I'm also trying to get a leica sl, possibly the sl2!

Claremont, are you portuguese or you are just in alentejo? Thank you for the site, I didn't know it. Well, i saw r3 on ebay, body only and with the "top camera, A+ condition" at 499 or more euros. That's why I became "should I accept this price, for a leica camera with lens?" even so if it not a leica lens. That can get latter, if I manage to.

If I were ready to buy a Leica R I'd look at the R8's from ffordes which surely cannot be more than two or three years old and are about 25% of the new price.
I've only ever been to Figueira da Foz once, for a business meeting, and enjoyed the time there. It's very stylish compared to where I live. I was in a small chic cafe bar on the ocean front near to the clock tower.
Whatever you decide (about the camera) you really cannot go wrong with a Leica R if you want/need a quality SLR.

Glad to meet someone that knows my hometown. The city has changed, to the worst, since it is buildings and more buindings. The cafe is possibly the "o Tubarão" or "A Sagres". They are still there!
I know, I think that it's not a good idea. Nikon and canon produce dslr that accept old lens, but leica is leica...
R8's are very expensive for me and has I said, I prefer the manual reflex.
If someone would give me an r7 or 8, I would glady trade or sell it for a SL2! 😉

Leica seem to be saying that they have discontinued the R9, but that the dSLR S will take its place.
It's confusing, and the only news out of Leica is in badly-written German which confuses even native German-speakers.
If I had the cash today I would buy an R8 (virtually the same as R9) for €500 'used' rather than €2,000 new.
I was maybe in 'Sagres', a modern cafe bar, it was all blonde wood with plates of prawns in garlic butter and Portuguese beer. And high prices too. And a lot of negative attitude towards me as a foreigner until I flipped open the newspaper and discussed yesterday's football...

Sagres is a beer bar, since it is one of the portuguese beer! Is has big beer tanks, that the costumers can see. Or it could be the Espanhol, that know has yellow walls and it's more a sea food restaurant!
