Hi guys..

ok, i got my GA645wi in the mail yesterday. Took it out to play with today.

everything seemed fine, etc.

I took the 645wi which has a 45mm lens and compared it with my 645i which has a 60mm lens, focused it on a similar object from the same distance.

The 645i with the 60mm lens read 1 meter, whereas the 645wi read 3.5 meters!!!

i tried it again on another object and had the same results with the same variations on both cameras respectively.

could this be because of the varying focal lengths, or because of a focusing error in the camera?

i need the 45mm fuji for a shoot tmrw for my final portfolio for college.... arrgh.. hope anyone here can offer a hand.

thanks and regards,
Trevor

Just checking

Just checking

I know this sounds obvious, but I just want to make sure: 1 meter is approximately 3.5 feet. Are you sure one is not a metric and one an American marking?

And if both are indeed reading in meters, which one is accurate? That is, what is the true distance to the subject... Final thought: Are they truly focusing on the same object? I love my GA5645Wi and it seems to focus accurately at all distances... as long as I make sure it "knows" the object I want!

hmmmm

wait... it makes sense...... all the readings tend to be 3.3 feet off compared to my 645i in which the Meter marking is illuminated.

come to think of it, i think the 645wi is measuring in feet instead of meters!!!

THANKS GUYS!!!!

now to figure out how to change ie back to meters... hmmm

Wow... I wish the metric only DOF scale on my GS645S would translate to english for me... I have to think a little extra to use it, it has cost me a couple of shots when I'm working quickly.
I hope the camera measures up for you.

Just think "yards" for meters... If you want to be a bit more precise you can figure 1.1 yards for a meter.

Doug-
That's what I do, but the analog calculator is kinda slow when its also worrying about other things. It's not a major complaint.

Thank You

Thank You
