Did anybody ever try to edge of the sides of the negative-holder in their flatbed scanner?
So you will have more of a custom negative edge line, like one used to do with the neg-holder in the enlarger.
thanx

Leaving too much empty negative around the edge will mess up the levels of the image itself within the scanning software. I never bothered more because my Plustek doesn't overscan either.

but wouldn't a adjustment of the levels be sufficient to solve that?
perhaps the auto-scanning will not work that good anymore, but that is hardly used.
besides custom edges look nice imo, the biggest problem is that the scanner cuts of some of the negative, which is annoying. cutting the negative straight helps a lot to have it straight in the holder, but that's not enough to avoid it.
any suggestions to solve that any otherway?
thanks
