Me too! In addition to my Fuji Frontiers. I was never impressed by conversions until this plug in. It's a game changer.

I've gone back to some of my old scans I did with my DSLR, ones that I never was really happy with where the colour was just off. As I had followed my methodology that produced great colour with other images, I chalked it down to expired film that I was not sure how it was stored.
Well... this plugin transformed them and made them look great (and normal!).

I only started home processing colour negative film earlier this year. I was disappointed with my initial results because CP showed a significant blue cast. I assumed it was a processing error as CP worked well with other lab processed films. Revisiting these earliest efforts of C41 films with NPL revealed that the negatives were perfect and the problem that I'd experienced was down to CP ( or more likely my inability to understand how to use CP)
With CP I'd convert all RAW files to TIFF and then methodically work those tiff files in PSE. NLP just saves so much time. I wish it was a little cheaper but for me it's already proving it's worth.
I don't really understand the point of scanner emulation but I would like some presets varying contrast , exposure and colour balance. It'd also be cool if the user could save settings. Great product

NLP: shadow hard, minor adjustments to increase contrast
I really like the improved speed and sharpness compared to the V700 scans!

It's not just a time saving issue, but memory saving too!
My previous process required creating TIFFs which are huge files in comparison to just working on the RAWs.

I went to bed happy with the trial and seriously considering purchasing the plug-in, but after waking up I realized... Because my copy stand has a 6x6 mask that covers only image area (it is akin to an enlarger mask) the area that I am selecting with the eye dropper actually isn't the orange mask, it's the black neg holder.
Yet the tool still works incredibly well.
I'm going to do another test, but will try using my 6x7 mask so I can select the orange mask. Unfortunately my 35mm holder will have the same problem.
Lastly, I accidentally lost one of my trial conversions when I pressed Apply by mistake instead of pressing Convert Negative first. Whoops. Might be a feature to use in a later version, greying out that button until after a conversion is made?

unless the strips are cut into single negs, you can just slide the negs in-between frames and capture one of those per roll. It's only to set the white balance.

Just take one test shot without the mask so you can use the edge for the white balance. That will be good for the entire roll.
Then 'scan' the rest as normal.

I had some similar issues, for one reason or another, wanted to start again with NLP from the beginning with one negative.
My best solution: Hit x, then remove from catalog, and re-import.
I think I tried going back in history (equivalent to undo), but that didn't work out. Didn't seem to fully undo NLPs changes.

You can use the 'reset' w/in NLP to make sure all the changes are undone.

Tried this with a Plustek scanner base and didn't work great. Need huge gamma/exposure correction and the colours are still off. Otherwise would love to use it - interface is soo much better than any of the other ones.

I always make sure to hit reset before unconverting.
So if I inverted & edited a (camera-) scan and want to start from scratch with a virtual copy my WF is the following:
- make virtual copy ([cmd] + [t] on a mac)
- open NLP on the copy
- "reset"
- "unconvert"
- apply
- go to Library-Module of Lr
- reset all Lightroom changes

quality of conversion from scans depend highly upon the scan software giving you a real linear output.
What software did you use and what were your settings?
Also, scanners support is in the works (see release video of v1.2).
If you're interested that your scanner is supported I suggest you get in touch with the author and ask if it would be helpful to share your scans with him.
He mentioned somewhere that he'll post a guide for the best scan-settings. I just guess this was delayed a bit for the sake of releasing v1.2 - but as this is available now I'm hoping for fast scanner integration hehe

The plugin expects gamma encoded input file. Your scan was probably raw (linear) file. Scan the negative as (non-raw) slide film.
I did a few such scans on my drum scanner that has incredibly good color accuracy and the results from the plugin weren't particularly good. I wouldn't expect miracles from your Plustek scans with this plugin either...
