I have been following the fun here for a little bit and after a visit to the Leica factory in Solms I have decided to leave the world of SLRs and fully into the land of rangefinders. I already own a Bessa-R and have been happilyusing it for a few years...
Now it is time to take the next step and head into the land of Leicas! After doing some research I seem to have settled on the M4 or M4-P, more likely the later. I am also entertaining the idea of an M6 TTL (I like the idea of the larger shutter speed dial among other things...). I have read a lot about the M6 being the "nadir " of the M, series does this still hold true for the TTL? I am leaning towards the M4-P not just because it is cheaper but also because I have heard from a few people that it is a bit more robust; fact or fiction? I don't really need an in camera meter anyways.
In any event I just wanted to get your thoughts on which camera to buy. I am an available light photojournalist who is tired of carrying a 10kg bag full of SLRs! I would appreciate any feedback and of course if someone could point me int he direction of a good camera for sale (maybe you even have one you are willing to part with for a good price to help a young photog?) that would be great!
Thanks,
Damaso
