Ned: your mention of Noct Nikkor....
Ned,
Would you have a moment to give some more thoughts on your Noct Nikkor? It's just I already have one but also have the chance to buy a very nice example of a recent Leica f/1 Noctilux in a couple of days' time and would really welcome your expanding on the difference in character between the two... pictorially, even emotionally I mean because we know about the operating differences between rangefinders and SLRs.
Any views or pictures much appreciated, especially some pictures from the Noct Nikkor. At present I only have a few pictures of my own from this lens, but I am impressed by the way it handles bright light sources and by the way the background / horizon dissolves behind the point of focus. I prefer to use this lens for my own relaxation on an F3HP; on a couple of occasions I have shot some musical events with it on a D2X or D1X, but the fact it wasn't for my own project meant it didn't do a lot for me used that way (and was harder to focus on the digital cameras' screens).
By the way, your two boys and dogs shot taken with the 75mm Summilux is one of my all-time favourites: for me it is in the body language and expression of the young Alsatian/German shepherd dog.
Best wishes,
Tom
