Congrats, Joe on your new acquisition. You can never have too many cameras, especially rangefinders!
I wonder how customs is in the other direction? One of our members shipped a lens to me from Canada last week and I'm still waiting for it's arrival. US Customs hasn't been a problem whatsoever in my dealings with FSU sellers so I wouldn't think a package from Canada would be held up either. OTOH, would Canadian Customs delay the transfer to the US postal system?

As far as I know, it is the Custom's office of the receiving country that holds up parcels sometimes in order to collect duty. A parcel from Canada to the US does not pass through Canada Customs, it only needs to clear US Customs. That is my understanding, anyway.

I almost bought a guitar from Canada (a Dupont gypsy-style jazz guitar) ... in the end I didn't but I learned that either UPS or FEDEX (don't recall which) was, because of special legal capabilities, able to expedite "used goods of no commercial value" or similar, saving *weeks*FROM Canada Vs mail or the other. Worth investigating.

Thanks to all for their replies about Customs. So far - knock on wood - I have yet to be charged duty on any used photo item arriving from another country.
Hopefully I'll ss the lens before too much longer.
